After two years of growing horror, c3 Board Member and CAKE band member John McCrea decided this summer he needed to do more to steer our country back onto a more just and humane course. In the past year alone, children have been separated from their families, credible allegations of sexual assault were summarily dismissed by the Senate in confirming a Supreme Court nominee, and gun violence continued to ravage our communities including shootings at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida and at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.

With the stakes this high, John knows the upcoming elections in November aren’t just business as usual and wants everyone else to know it too. WE have the power to fight back — and changing Congress in November is the strongest action we can take.

And that’s exactly what we plan on doing. That’s why John started the Vote Like Hell campaign.

Vote Like Hell was established to empower you to raise hell and get out the vote. John has teamed up with expert campaign strategists and his fellow musicians to fight back through these must win elections and wants you to join him.

What is Vote Like Hell? First, it’s a contest for fans. We encourage you to tell Vote Like Hell and everyone around you why you plan on voting like hell (literally). Submissions can be done as photos, videos, memes, pieces of artwork, songs, or anything that will motivate others to get fired up about this upcoming election. To submit, share your content via social media with the hashtag #VoteLikeHell. CAKE’s favorite submissions will be handpicked and rewarded with exclusive prizes like limited edition merch and more.

Second, it’s a central hub of information voters need. Go here to find out everything you need to know to vote like hell.

Third, it’s a tour. CAKE will be performing at Vote Like Hell concerts over the next few weeks with the opportunity to meet the band and candidates through VIP tickets. Further details on events and the contest can be found here.

If you are an artist who is interested in participating in Vote Like Hell activities, drop Vote Like Hell an email at Vote Like Hell is staffed with political professionals who have experience working with musicians and can find things to do that are a good fit for you.

But don’t forget it’s not all fun photos and concerts, none of this will matter if you don’t actually get out and vote at your local polling place on November 6th.
